In the same context, Trump speaks of several oil tankers that reportedly passed through the Strait of Hormuz despite the blockade and presents this as a kind of “gift” from Iran to the United States. He had already hinted at this announcement the previous day.
The war launched by the United States and Israel against Iran has at this point been ongoing for nearly a month and shows no signs of ending soon. The continuing fighting is driving up global oil prices and further straining the global economy.
At the same time, Trump announces new measures to support American farmers, who are facing rising fertilizer costs, the loss of markets, and financial setbacks exacerbated by the war and the US administration’s tariff policies.
