According to Western intelligence, Russia is close to completing a shipment of drones as well as medical supplies and food to Iran. Moscow officially rejects this claim and insists it is not providing military support in the ongoing conflict. Instead, the Russian leadership states that it is supplying only humanitarian aid and will continue to do so.
Reports indicate that Russian and Iranian officials held talks about a secret transfer of drones. These meetings reportedly took place one day after the United States and Israel carried out attacks on Tehran. Russia and Iran maintain close ties, and according to Western assessments, Moscow has already supported its partner with satellite imagery, targeting data, and intelligence assistance.
Further reports suggest that military cooperation between the two countries has intensified since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East. Russia is said to have provided Iran with improved drone technology as well as components for modified Shahed drones. In addition, Moscow allegedly offered tactical guidance, including recommendations on the number of drones to deploy and optimal strike altitudes. This cooperation could prolong the conflict while serving Russia’s military and economic interests.
The Kremlin firmly rejects these allegations. Government spokesman Dmitry Peskov described reports about the transfer of satellite imagery and advanced drone technology as false and stated that much of the circulating information is disinformation, which is why not every claim is being addressed individually.
